ATEI London Show
- Post Show Updates
ATEI London show was held
on January 22nd to January 24th. UNIS marketing team was
there to document and bring to our readers a short summary
of the show as well as details on UNIS games and other
news!
The ATEI show has always
been one of the most successful annual trade shows, ranking
high in importance for our amusement industry (probably
second to only the IAAPA exhibition). At this time of the
year, we saw many new lines from USA, UK/ Europe, and other
countries introduced for the first time. Last year, there
was a change in laws concerning gambling machines which
affected the overall sentiment among the buyers. With that
issue settled, many of the distributors and exhibitors
expected a strong turnout for 2008. Although the overall
show attendance this year was decent, compared to last
year, there was a noticeable decline in UK buyers- especially
in the casino area.
On the show floor, we saw the debut of many new and exciting
products. Many exhibitors took up larger floor space to
display their wares. UNIS products continued to be supported
by our UK local partners: Namco UK, United Distributing
Company and Crown Direct. Our manufacturing partner FX
simulation also showcased their impressive simulator.
See pictures of new UNIS lines in our partners' stand:
Disco Winner (UDC) Pharaoh Treasure (UDC) Cyber Coin (UDC)
Touchdown Fortune (UDC)
Family Bowling(Namco) Battle Forge (Namco)
Comet Catcher (Crown Direct) Pirate Revenge(Crown Direct)

Aside from new games,
there were other popular lines that remained strong and
continued to be well-received. Colorama 4 player, Froggy
Battle, Crazy Hoops as well as several OEM machines were
exhibited through our partners. Namco UK seemed to have
worked out an agreement with Amutec on handling their kiddy
rides as we saw some of Amutec kiddy rides and UNIS carousel
displayed in their booth.
Some of UNIS USA manufacturing
contacts also exhibited some new products. Global VR
added to their lineup, "Blazing
Angel" (War themed airplane game). Betson / Raw Thrills
showed BIG BUCK SAFARI, an improved version of their already-popular
Big Buck series. There were many other impressive debut
units at the show that we might consider dedicating a separate
issue to write more in detail on some of the other interesting
games that caught our eye....
Overall, the ATEI show was a great success.
We thank all of our partners for their support and hope
that despite the low traffic, ATEI will continue to yield
good sales for them. |
